Christmas Eve Surprises!

Happy Christmas Eve!! Our festivities have just barely begun, but there are still some exciting things to share!

We went to brunch with my mom this morning since we won't be seeing my family on Christmas day. We opened presents and had yummy brunchy food. Hayes was kind of a wild animal, but it was during his naptime so I can't blame him. My mom surprised me with a beautiful rose gold Apple watch, which was way beyond anything I ever expected or deserved.
That was my big surprise of the day!

Now scroll through the rest of the pictures for your surprise!

FYI: This dress is THE most comfortable thing I own.

And SURPRISE! Baby #2 is coming next July! Believe it or not, Baby #2 has the exact same due date that Hayes did. It wasn't planned, so I'm blown away at this coincidence.

If you're a close personal friend of ours, you probably already knew about this from our Christmas card. Surprisingly, I've heard that our announcement was pretty discreet and was easily missed upon receiving our card. Hence the need for a more formal announcement. ;)

Back to my comfy dress, complete with pockets... it's just one of the gazillion cute dresses from Pink Blush that I can wear all throughout my pregnancy and beyond. I know that when I was pregnant with Hayes, I had much more limited options for cute maternity clothes than I will with this little bundle.

If you're in need of stylish pregnancy clothes, you've got to check them out.  I maaaay or may not have another surprise coming soon... a giveaway for a Pink Blush gift card so you can get your own super comfy wardrobe of maternity/non-maternity outfits! Stay tuned!

Thanksgiving 2016

I've been pretty MIA this Fall, so I'm quickly going to bring you up to speed over the next couple of posts.

Nothing super exciting to write about because I feel like I've spent the last 2 months getting over different sicknesses. That means a lot of couch time for mama. Also, it means a LOT of Netflix. Gilmore Girls to be exact. I watched the revival, fell back in love, then started the original series over from the beginning. Basically, I'll see you in another 2 months when I'm done binging and feel like going outside and joining the rest of the world.

We did spend a really awesome Thanksgiving in East Texas with my family. One of my aunts just moved to an amazing resort/lake community and we got to explore on the golf cart until all the food was ready. The boys had a blast!

Hayes spent most of his first road trip sleeping, minus the leg stretch when we stopped for gas.

Then we stuffed our bellies (Hayes, only with bread), watched some football, and headed back home and still had time to visit with Justin's family for a little bit before bedtime. Overall, it was a perfect Thanksgiving.

A Very "Wild" Halloween Week

This year I didn't put too much creative energy into Halloween costumes. I went with the same "Where the Wild Things Are" theme that we used for Hayes' first birthday a few months back. I just ordered his costume from Party City but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality.

At the very last minute, I ordered cheeeeap fur hats (thank you, Amazon Prime) for Justin and I and I glued on felt ears that I made.Viola! Instant Max and his wild things.

We took Hayes to the same Halloween carnival that we went to last year. It goes without saying...he was MUCH more into it this year. I was really proud that he understood our instructions on how to trick-or-treat. He signed "thank you" to everyone who gave him candy!

He looks upset in all of these pictures because he was really hot in his costume and we kept making him take photos with his hood on. It was an unseasonably warm 80 degrees that evening. I know, #parentfail.

The Saturday before Halloween brought us a much needed adults only party with friends. I threw together some costumes, mostly with things Justin and I already had in our closets. I think this will be our new tradition. It should save us time, money, and from adding more clutter to our house.

I also threw together a flower crown (a la Snapchat) to wear to work on Monday. Here are me and the girlies from my office being our normal selves.

Aaaand finally we got to trick-or-treat! Hayes, again, did so good like he did at the carnival.

He always wants to keep up with the big kids.

That concludes our week of Halloween festivities. Now I'm ready for all that Fall brings!

The Littlest Cowboy Fan + An Easy DIY Graphic Tee

I'm born and raised in Dallas, Texas. So while I'm admittedly not the biggest or best sports fan, I can't help but root for America's Team. Growing up here in Dallas in the 90's, during the Cowboys' most successful years, with fanatic parents, part of me does bleed blue and silver.

Just don't make me talk about the actual game of football because it will become painfully clear that I'm clueless.

However, Hayes will not have the same problem, His daddy will teach him the game and he will be the biggest, most loyal fan. I mean, just look at how happy he is to sport his team pride.

For his shirt, I bought a plain navy long sleeve tee at Walmart and added some soft flock iron-on letters. I didn't pick the most grammatically correct phrase and I think that makes me like it even more.

Also, I'm in love with my new Gathre leather picnic blanket that Justin got me for our 5 year wedding anniversary. It's what Hayes is laying on in the first two pictures. It's super luxurious and I can't wait to picnic on it.

Next up: I'll share pictures from all of our Trick-or-Treating fun! Excuse me while I stuff my face with Hayes' hard earned Halloween candy.

Dunaways Do Dallas

Last weekend I convinced my dear husband to pack the baby up, hop in the car and make the short, yet stressful, drive to Dallas. I claim Dallas as my city, when in actuality I live in a small suburb outside of D-Town. I need new glasses because my eyes are crap and my vision gets worse year after year. I make sure to keep my contacts prescription up to date, but I only get glasses every few years. Well, I've put it off long enough and it was time to head to Warby Parker.

I lucked out and ordered my last pair from their website without trying them on. I have the Preston and I really love them. However, I'm not sure if I'd get lucky enough to blindly (heh, get it?) pick out another pair from online without trying them on my face.

So off we went and try on I did.

Clearly I have a type: anything big and tortoise colored.

There was a bit of a line, so we played outside while we waited. Mr. Hayes can have fun anywhere, thank goodness.

Those curls! Oh my!

When we were finished there, we took Hayes to Klyde Warren Park. It was a warm day, so after we got messy eating from food trucks, we stripped him and let him run through the fountains.

I'm so proud of how easy going he can be and how he can have a good time, even when we're running boring grown up errands.

Farmer's Market Fun + JORD Wood Watches GIVEAWAY

Disclosure: I was sent a product from  JORD Wood Watches to review and to write this post. All opinions expressed are my own and not influenced in any way.

This morning we ventured to the local Farmer's Market, despite the dreary rainy weather.

Hayes enjoyed a tropical yogurt smoothie...

Talk about being milk drunk.

"Step right up, folks! Come try the world's best empanadas!" - Baby Hayes

He was the empanada booth's biggest fan. He stood out front and pointed and waved and yelled at people to come try one! In exchange for his free advertising services, they awarded him many free samples. Have you ever had a guava and cheese empanada? I suggest you do because it was AMAZING.

Hurry up, Hayes. Let's go eat all of our goodies!

I don't wear a ton of jewelry while running errands, but my JORD watch is the perfect accessory for days like this. I chose a super neutral wood color and it seems to match everything I wear. (Here's the link to the exact watch I have.)

JORD Wood Watches has been awesome enough to allow me to give one lucky winner $75 to spend towards your very own wood watch. If you aren't selected, don't worry because they're still giving you $20 off your purchase! I mean, how amazing is that?

Follow this link to fill out the entry form. While you're there, browse through all of the gorgeous watches you can buy after you win. You have until September 25th to enter, so you better act fast!

Can it Be Summer Forever?

Take the 100+ degree temperatures out of the mix, and I would be happy if it were Summer year round. I mean, who wouldn't be?

Hayes, for one, is a true Summer baby. He loves being naked and loves water. Justin's school has a back-to-school celebration every year, called Bronco Bash, where they have In-N-Out burgers catered, bounce houses, and a dunking booth. Last year, Hayes attended as a 1 month old snuggled up tight in my Solly wrap. This year he attended as a dunking booth volunteer. Nakedness + water = Hayes is IN.

I know he looks scared in this one shot, but he was really excited and liked getting in the water when he eventually got dunked!

He was dressed to impress...the pre-teen boys who were not-so-coincidentally dressed the exact same way.

My opinion: my baby is TOO young to be wearing full athletic attire just yet. Don't I have years before the rebellion starts and he ONLY wants to wear Nike Dri Fit?

This Sunday we attended our friends' church and afterward, we spent time with family. The cousins were showing us their sweet dance moves when I snapped this gem. Grayson's face = priceless.

After we (Justin and I) took naps at his parents house, we went on a stroll around the neighborhood with the Radio Flyer in tow.

I love this boy and his silly, adventurous spirit.

We have Meet the Teacher day this week and Hayes starts school next week so I feel like Summer is officially coming to a close.

I also heard a rumor that PSLs are available at certain Starbucks already??! Ready or not, Fall is coming!
